Everyone knows that Joseph was the foster father of Jesus and the husband of Mary, but not much else was told about him in the Bible. Written in journal entries, The Diaries of Joseph and Mary reveals the hidden life of Saint Joseph, starting from his life as a young child, to his marriage to Mary, and finally to his death after a fulfilling life of doing God's will and raising Jesus. Throughout the book is also the life of Mary and some of her life as a child and wife to Joseph. The last half of the book answers 101 questions about Joseph to give a more in-depth understanding of St. Joseph and how he was used in the plan of salvation.

The Diaries of Joseph and Mary was a fantastic easy to read book about the life of Saint Joseph and Mary and, by extension, Jesus. The book goes over the essential aspects of Joseph's life and how he became the foster father of Jesus, and how he led the Holy Family. The story is written in journal entries from Joseph and Mary and reveals their thoughts and feelings during trouble, heartache, joy, and love. Before I read The Diaries of Joseph and Mary, I never really thought about Joseph and what he must have been feeling when he married Mary, or when angels came to him, or when one first saw Jesus. This brought to life that Joseph was a real person with thoughts and ideas and a love for the Lord.
The last part of the book was 101 questions and answers on Saint Joseph that I thought was brilliant! A few questions, in particular, were fascinating and things I never knew. I told my mom about this book, and she is excited to read it with my nine-year-old brother. The Diaries of Joseph and Mary was a great book to read, especially now since it is the year of Saint Joseph, and I recommend it to all ages!
Things to Mention: Joseph and Mary have to run away from King Herod since he was trying to kill Jesus.
