KASIE WEST

Age Range: 13 and up

This book is a cute story about a girl named Sophie Evens, who lives in a small town in Alabama. She works for the local florist, so she has to be at every major event in her town, and then one day, a famous, wealthy chef comes to help her friend's family restaurant get bigger, and the chef brings along his arrogant son, Andrew Hart. Sophie wants to get her job done and finish her designs so she could go to design school in New York City and get away from a small town and family drama, but he seems to be everywhere she is and she can't get rid of him. She just wants him to disappear until one day she realizes that they have a lot in common, and she's kind of okay with him being around. This book is told over the course of one year and nine different events.

I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was just so cute. This is definitely one of my favorite Kasie West books for many reasons. First, nothing felt rushed. Some authors try to make everything happen so quickly that you don't know what just happen, but not with this book. I feel like everything happen perfectly. Second, I feel like this story was original. There are so many books out there about a small town girl or boy, but I felt like this book was different from those other books. I hope everyone reads and loves this book as much as I do.

Things to mention: Her dad left her mom after being married for 15 years and there are some kissing details.
